Competition sponsored by ViniPortugal brought together a prestigious international jury, which once again recognized the quality of the wines of the Kopke, Burmester, Cálem and Barros houses, both in the Port wine category and in the DOC Douro wines.

Sogevinus wins 6 medals in Portugal wine contest 2014

The Kopke, Burmester, Cálem and Barros da Sogevinus houses were once again evident in the Portuguese Wine Competition, promoted by ViniPortugal, which was attended by a prestigious jury of national and international critics, chaired by Luis Ramos Lopes, editor of the magazine (Germany), Charles Metcalfe (UK), Evan Goldstein (USA), Dirceu Júnior (Brazil), Shinya Tasaki (Japan) and Bento Amaral (Portugal).

Among the gold medals are the Kopke Porto 40 Anos Tawny and the Burmester Porto Colheita 1989, medals that come to confirm the production of Tawnys of excellence. In the category of silver medals were distinguished the wines Kopke Porto Colheita 1964, Barros Special Edition Porto Colheita 1974, Cálem L.B.V. 2009 and in the DOC Douro wines the Kopke Reserva White 2012 was the winner.

Sogevinus thus honors the confidence of its consumers and reinforces the commitment to the quality and consistency of the profile of its brands.
The Wine Contest of Portugal, whose awards ceremony took place yesterday, May 29, at the Palácio da Bolsa in Oporto. More than a thousand wines were submitted to a jury with the participation of 75 national winemakers and 25 experts from different countries.
