The wine houses of Sogevinus, Kopke, Burmester, Cálem and Barros were once again evident in the Portuguese Wine Competition, promoted by ViniPortugal.

The Portuguese Wine Competition, sponsored by ViniPortugal, was attended by a prestigious jury of national and international critics, chaired by Luis Ramos Lopes, director of the Wine Magazine, David Schwarzwalder (Germany), Jorge Carrara (Brazil), Tom Firth ) And Mary Ewing Mulligan (USA).

The great highlight goes to the Burmester Porto Colheita 1963, elected by the Grand Jury for the exclusive list of 16 wines awarded Gold Medal Great, considered the best in the race. In total, Sogevinus wines collected three more gold medals and three bronze medals, having been one of the most awarded producers in the competition.

Among the gold medals are Barros Porto Colheita 1937, Burmester Porto Tordiz 40 Years Tawny and Kopke Douro DOC Reserva Branco 2011, a medal that confirms the commitment to the production of DOC Douro wines of high quality. In the category of bronze medals were distinguished the wines Kopke Porto Colheita 1984, Kopke Porto Branco 40 Years and the monovarietal House Burmester Touriga Nacional 2010.

The Wine Competition of Portugal, whose award ceremony took place on June 7, had a jury of 100 critics and experts, of which 36 are international. The competition and evaluated in blind proof were 1007 wines, among which 919 quiet wines and 88 fortified wines. In addition to the 16 Gold Medals, 36 Gold Medals, 81 Silver Medals and 125 Bronze Medals were awarded.
